Dr Angela McNaught - Director

Clinical Psychologist

PhD, PGDipClinPsych, MNZCCP

Dr Angela McNaught is a Clinical Psychologist and a Director of Best Practice.

Angela holds a PhD in Psychology and a Post Graduate Diploma in Clinical Psychology from Massey University. She is registered with the New Zealand Psychologists' Registration Board, holds the HPCA Act Clinical Scope of Practice, a current annual practicing certificate, and is also a Full Member of the New Zealand College of Clinical Psychologists.

As well as her commitments to Best Practice, Angela teaches psychiatry registrars Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), and delivers a range of workshops locally and internationally on CBT,  using technology in clinical practice, and building resilience.  Prior to working full-time in private practice, she spent 8 years as a Senior Lecturer at Massey University where she taught in the Post-Graduate Diploma of Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, and several years at Counties Manukau District Health Board, specialising in adult mental health and working with combined medical and psychological problems. Angela's doctoral thesis investigated the understandings of dying well for terminally ill patients.

Dr Natalie Khin-Carter - Associate

Dr Natalie Khin-Carter is a Clinical Psychologist and an Associate of Best Practice.

Dr Natalie Khin-Carter holds a PhD in Psychiatry from Auckland University, and the Post Graduate Diploma in Clinical Psychology from Massey University. She is registered with the New Zealand Psychologists' Registration Board, holds the HPCA Act Clinical Psychologist Scope of Practice, a current annual practising certificate, and is also a Full Member of the New Zealand College of Clinical Psychologists.

Natalie has previously worked as a Clinical Psychologist both in private practice and at Counties Manukau District Health Board, specialising in adult mental health. Natalie has a specific interest in psychological disorders in general practice settings and her PhD thesis investigated how general practitioners manage patients with psychological problems.

Clare Kinsella - Associate

Clare Kinsella is a Clinical Psychologist and an Associate of Best Practice.

Clare holds a Master of Arts (Psychology) and a Master of Clinical Psychology from Massey University. She is registered with the New Zealand Psychologists' Registration Board, holds the HPCA Act Clinical Psychologist Scope of Practice, a current annual practising certificate, and is a Member of the New Zealand College of Clinical Psychologists.

Clare has previously worked in community mental health settings within the Counties Manukau District Health Board. She has worked with adults experiencing a range of mental health difficulties, including depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, post-natal difficulties, adjustment and other emotional challenges.  Clare's Masters' thesis explored participation in exercise for women with post-natal depression.

Natasha de faria - Associate

Clinical Psychologist

Natasha de Faria is a Clinical Psychologist and an Associate of Best Practice.

Natasha holds a Master of Arts in Psychology with an endorsement in Clinical Psychology, and the Post Graduate in Clinical Psychology from Massey University. She is registered with the New Zealand Psychologists' Registration Board, holds the HPCA Act Clinical Psychologist Scope of Practice, a current annual practising certificate, and is also a Full Member of the New Zealand College of Clinical Psychologists.

Natasha has worked extensively in adult mental health at Counties Manukau District Health Board, and most recently worked as a Senior Clinical Psychologist at Massey University’s Psychology Clinic in Albany.  She has specialised in the area of anxiety disorders, particularly Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, and also works with a broad range of difficulties employing Cognitive Behaviour Therapy and mindfulness-based interventions.

Natasha works Tuesdays, but is currently not taking on new clients.
